It is usually said that children are the future of a nation. This has never been truer than now. Having in mind all the social and infrastructural disruptions the world is currently undergoing, especially in developing countries, it is time to take the matter of sustainability very seriously. Such a big endeavor cannot be discussed by only a handful of people. It needs the cooperation and contribution of each and every one, from individuals to nations, to continents, up to the whole world.
Recent statistics by the UNICEF show that: “Worldwide, there are still more than 150 million children ages 3 to 5 who do not have access to pre-primary education, including more than 80% of children in low-income countries.” (Read the whole article). The above situation is real, and it is only getting worse. If action is not taken now, we may find ourselves in an unrecoverable state in the few coming years.
That is why, in respect to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations General Assembly in 2015, at PresAID Uganda we endlessly aspire to a new world; one in which all humans, children in particular, have access to basic needs such as food, safe and clean water, good education in a subject of their choosing, and most importantly, live in a safe and sustainable environment.
So far, we have had help from various sources, and on behalf of the children we are helping, we can never be grateful enough. It would be biased for us to begin enumerating the few good acts we have posed in various communities. However, allow us to mention Luther Christian Academy Uganda, which is a School we contributed to build. Click here to know more.
Yes, we know that educational sustainability for all children is a pretty bold dream to carry in mind, considering the unimaginable scale of what needs to be done in order to archive our vision. But one thing is certain: no matter how hard the obstacles on road may be, we have never considered quitting. The fight is big, and we know it. That is why we need help from you too. “Good things do not do themselves; they are done by those with good hearts.”
The task is noble, and we cannot do it alone. At PresAID, your help is welcome. If you would like to save a child’s life, donate today.
